Piegan Glacier is located at 48.70845, -113.6848. In 2005 this glacier covered an area of 250728 m2 and in 1966 it covered an area of 280107 m2 . That is a change of -10.50 % over this time period.
This glacier is tucked into a high bowl and sees very little movement. Like a giant ice bowl it remains in the shadow much of the day and most of the summer. There are few indicators that its perimeter has changed much in recent years. Although it is small it will most likely last longer than most in Glacier National Park. It is easily accessed and viewable from the Siyeh Junction Trail.
